Common Antenna System Expands Wireless Coverage and Capacity at Major MICE Venue in Marina Bay, Singapore
(18 June 2012, Hong Kong) - Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba Telecom” or the “Group”, Hong Kong Stock code: 2342), a global leading wireless solutions provider, announced the successful completion of a wireless enhancement project for the venue hosting the CommunicAsia2012 Exhibition and Conference - a major wireless industry event in the region where Comba Telecom is also exhibiting its products and solutions. The exhibition is expected to attract more than 53,000 visitors this year.
Comba Telecom successfully designed and delivered a multi-operator 3G wireless capacity and enhancement solution for the main convention hall and basement of the resort in time for the CommunicAsia2012. Deploying a Common Antenna System (“CAS”), Comba Telecom equipped the venue with a cost-effective solution that is robust enough to address the heavy influx of voice and data traffic during CommuncAsia2012, and is also scalable for future exhibitions and shows at the venue located in the Marina Bay area of Singapore.
The CAS enables 3G indoor wireless coverage for Singapore’s 3G mobile operators over a single shared system. Comba Telecom consolidated all the 3G operators’ nodeBs into a central equipment room and deployed multi-band combiners to combine the multiple nodeB signals. Multi-band Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and high gain antennas are used to distribute the combined RF signals throughout the building to enable seamless 3G data and voice connectivity for visitors in the convention hall.
Mr. Simon Yeung, Executive Director and Senior Vice President of the Group, said, “We are pleased to be the 3G wireless solution supplier for this event. We completed the entire installation within a three week window to allow preparatory activities for CommunicAsia2012. We achieved this by working closely with the venue management and the operators to minimize disruption to existing events and services during installation.”
Mr. Yeung added, “From Singapore to Sao Paulo to Shanghai, Comba Telecom is one of the world’s leading suppliers of wireless capacity and enhancement solutions. In particular, we have focused on the market for MICE venues and this our latest success. Over the years, we have built up a wealth of experience in this segment to provide solutions that are cost-effective, yet scalable, to handle the associated voice and data traffic conditions. With successful projects including solutions for the Shanghai World Expo, Galaxy Macau and other integrated resorts around the world, Comba Telecom continues to provide the best-in-class solutions to this market.”
