Comba Completes Construction of Wireless Systems for Asian Games Stadiums


(18 November 2010 – Hong Kong) – Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba” or “the Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 2342), a leading wireless enhancement solutions provider announced that it secured and completed a number of mobile communications coverage projects for the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. The projects were commissioned by telecommunications operators in China for setting up mobile communications facilities and networks within large Asian Games stadiums and other sporting venues.

Comba exclusively supplied and installed all indoor distributed antenna systems (DAS) for wireless coverage at Haixinsha Island in Guangzhou - the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian Games. The Group also undertook all indoor DAS projects of the Asian Games and Asian Paralympic Games for two telecommunications operators. In addition, Comba also secured the indoor DAS projects at more than 20 large sports centers including The Guangzhou Olympic Sports Center, Guangzhou International Sports Arena and Tianhe Sports Center. Finally, Comba supplied, installed and also upgraded the wireless networks for the facilities related to the Asian Games such as the Asian Games Village, the Airport Expressway, Guangzhou South Railway Station of the Wuhan-Guangzhou Express Rail, Bai Yun Mountain scenic district and the Shangri-la Hotel, accounting for more than 70% of the related projects among the operators.

The Guangzhou Asian Games will last for half a month, and Comba has formed a dedicated team comprising more than a hundred staff responsible for safeguarding communications facilities at all competition venues of the Asian Games and other areas related to the Games, thereby ensuring smooth uninterrupted communication.
