(4 April 2006 – Hong Kong) – Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 2342), the leading provider of wireless solutions for the 2G and 3G mobile telecoms market, introduces the new multi-carrier power amplifier (MCPA) for 3G networks at the CTIA Wireless 2006 event in Las Vegas, USA between 5-7 April.
Comba’s MCPA enables the amplification and integration of multiple carrier signals into a single antenna on base stations. The impact of this is to enable efficiencies by removing the need for multiple antennas for each base station with implications on running and maintenance costs.
The new MCPA from Comba has the world’s highest power density of its kind – namely, on a pound-for-pound basis, Comba’s MCPA has the highest power output, yet consumes the least power in the industry. The net effect of this is to help base station operators and manufacturers realize efficiencies in setting up and maintaining their base stations.
Tony T.L. Fok, Comba’s Chairman and Managing Director said, “The introduction of the Comba MCPA further enhances our portfolio of products and solutions for the 2G and 3G markets. The MCPA’s ease of integration with the other components of a base station will enable manufacturers to focus their resources on other value-added areas. We are positive that our product will gain traction in the global market.”
“We are delighted to present the MCPA to the market”, said Augustin Chang, Comba’s President, North America R&D, “We have consulted with base station manufacturers around the world to understand their wants and needs. Based on this, we have produced an MCPA that has one of the smallest footprints, the most efficient power consumption and output patterns, yet is easy to install.”
